Operated and owned by the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), the Glover’s Reef Research Station (GRRS) is located approximately 30 miles off the coast of Belize on Middle Caye. GRRS is one of the rare sites offering the scientific and academic communities in the United States, the Caribbean, and the rest of the world an opportunity to conduct high quality, replicable research with intellectual merit at one of the Caribbean’s most complex and important coral reef systems. Additionally, the Station hosts the Belize Fisheries Department as well as a large number of visitors and tourists from neighboring cayes. Surrounding the Station is Glover’s Reef Atoll and Marine Reserve (GRMR), which supports extraordinarily high biological diversity and possesses the greatest range of reef types in the Caribbean Sea.
